A wedding is a ceremony in which two people make a commitment to each other to stand together as a united couple. Sometimes the ceremony is the whole of a wedding but more often than not, the wedding also means that there will be rehearsals, a rehearsal dinner, a bridal shower, and after the wedding, the wedding reception. A wedding is often an opportunity for the couple getting married, to show off their wealth or status in a community. Weddings are also a time for the bride and groom to express their individual personalities through colors, themes, and/or the food and drink selections. However large or intimate the wedding, the basic theme is a joining together of two people who desire to spend their lives together.
When planning a wedding, it is helpful to have what is known as a “wedding checklist.” A wedding checklist is a comprehensive planner that is usually 16 months in length, and helps you set deadlines for wedding plans, and lets you see what needs to get done when. The checklist will allow you to decide and pencil in your; wedding budget, bridal party choices, guest list, venue, photographer, who will officiate, and many more of your wedding decisions. The checklist allows you to put in when these decisions need to be made, and then check them off when they have been accomplished. This can be especially helpful for the bride who is also working, or attending to other tasks and needs to have things written down and set out for her.
A wedding can be made even more special, when care and time are put into the choosing and putting together of wedding accessories. Wedding accessories include; the ceremony candles, aisle runners, ring pillows and pouches, flower girl baskets and accessories, pet accessories, wedding programs, and sand sets. These accessories will be greatly inspired by the bride and groom’s individual tastes, and will add their own personal touch to the ceremony. Wedding accessories can be purchased at wedding stores, or even shopped for and bought online through wedding sites.
One of the most planned for and looked forward to parts of a wedding is the reception. A wedding reception is a party for friends and family after the initial ceremony, to celebrate the married couple. This event is usually celebrated with food, drinks, and dancing. This is a special time for the guests of the bride and groom, to celebrate the couple with toasting, the sharing of memorable events, and the giving of gifts and good wishes. At the beginning of the reception, the bride and groom will greet each of their guests personally in what is known as the receiving line. This is an opportunity for the married couple to thank each of their guests for being a part if their special day, and gives the guest an opportunity to congratulate the couple. After the reception meal, there is usually dancing, with the bride and groom dancing alone for the first dance. The culmination of the wedding and the reception, is generally the cutting and eating of, the wedding cake.
