Team spirit is truly one of the best ways to convey a strong sense of pride and encourage others to reach a common goal.  There are many types of general team spirit, and one of the most prevalent locations to find team spirit is within a high school setting.  With all of the sports, teams, clubs, and various other events happening at a school, there is more than enough reason to provide team spirit to show support for a school.

Most schools have different groups such as baton twirlers, color guard, marching band, school mascots, a drill team, pom team, and cheerleaders to elevate the amount of school spirit and allow not only the excitement of players to increase but the excitement and spirit of fans and spectators.  Color guard and marching bands are always present at football games to bring forth passionate team spirit with choreographed numbers and, of course, the school fight song that everyone can sing along to with pride.  A school marching band as well as color guard work so hard throughout the school year to learn all types of new dances and songs in order to motivate students to have team spirit.  The school mascot is usually present at various sporting and school events to pump up the students and get them excited for the game or event that is soon to take place.  Cheerleaders are the ultimate team spirit models due to their constant peppy attitude and ability to bring forth such spirit and enthusiasm with numerous team spirit slogans and team spirit quotations.   

Both cheerleaders and a school in general possess a large amount of team spirit in the form of different team spirit slogans and quotations.  Besides the fight song that is usually sung at football games or pep assemblies, schools usually have many slogans that boost school spirit by talking about how their school is the best and can beat all the rest.  Often times, the fans that are watching the game will sing along with the cheerleaders to cheer on and support their team to victory.  Chanting these different slogans and quotations implement a sense of pride for all students in their school, and the sports players realize that they have the support and dedication of so many students.  When team players witness this type of support, they often play better in the end and can win important games for their school. 

Team spirit truly is essential inside and outside of a school setting.  With college or professional sports teams, it is important for the teams to have dedicated fans that believe in them and support them through each season.  There is an abundance of merchandise such as baseball caps, jewelry, jackets, jerseys, and shirts that fans can wear to promote team spirit for high schools, colleges, or professional teams.  Team spirit instills such pride in people taking part in any sport or event and allows them to play their very best knowing that they have so many fans behind them.
