Satellite radio is probably one of the best things that anyone could have invented. Satellite radio means virtually no commercials, and tons of options for music to listen to! I have been wanting satellite radio for a long time, and I think now I can finally get it! I just bought a new car that is satellite radio ready. It is made for Sirius satellite radio, which is the satellite radio brand that I wanted to begin with. Sirius satellite radio has all of the satellite radio stations that I want. I love to listen to electronic music and they have more options than XM satellite radio.

XM satellite radio is popular because of their talk satellite radio shows. Sirius satellite radio just has everything I want. It is funny how times change. When I was in school, my mom still listened to her old LP’s and vinyls of Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. I grew up with Tears for Fears, Janet and Michael Jackson and Paula Abdul on cassette tape. I think my mom used to have an 8 track player in our super old Oldsmobile, but I was too small to remember. Satellite radio was not even a thing up for discussion when I was growing up. I guess being a child of the late 80s/early 90s has its simpler memories. I do not think I could have even fathomed satellite radio, nothing about Sirius satellite radio, XM satellite radio, nothing! I think I would not have even known how satellite radio works. Actually, it is really not that crazy of an idea, obviously, because Sirius satellite radio and XM satellite radio have made a mint over the past five to ten years or so. Satellite radio is a normal thing for most people with relatively newer cars to have.

Satellite radio works just as the name suggests: by satellite. The satellite radio equipped car has transceivers and such that pick up the satellite radio waves, which are not exactly set to a frequency like radio waves, but digitally, by connecting on a network. Sirius satellite radio and XM satellite radio are the only two companies in the United States that offer satellite radio, so for right now, these are our only options. Actually, I take that back. I just remembered that Sirius satellite radio and XM satellite radio merged, offering a ton more options for satellite radio to their respective customers. Sirius satellite radio and XM satellite radio both have gained a lot from this satellite radio merger.

They are now able to offer much more to their respective customers. Satellite radio is the new and only way to listen to radio anymore. I listen to my iPod right now, but I will soon sign up for Sirius satellite radio, so that I can listen to XM satellite radio and still get all the great satellite radio stations offered on Sirius satellite radio. Cassette tapes and CDs, along with AM/FM are a thing of the past!
