Parties are definitely one of the best ways to spend time with family and friends and celebrate either a specific event or just life in general.  There are so many different reasons to have parties, but all parties ensure fun and a great time with people you enjoy being around.

Birthday parties are such a great way to celebrate a person’s special day, and there are so many types of birthday parties to choose from.  With children, birthday parties usually consist of something active such as a pool party, bowling, a petting zoo, a jump house, visiting a park, or many other events that ensure a memorable birthday for any child.  Teenagers often love to celebrate birthdays with an elaborate, exciting party with a lot of friends either at their house or maybe at their favorite restaurant.  Adults have a variety of ways of celebrating birthdays usually based on their age such as a small, intimate party with close friends or a large party with numerous friends.

Party planning is a big responsibility because there are so many ideas and decisions that need to be made when planning a party.  A person planning a party needs to keep track of how many people will be attending in order to obtain enough food and party supplies.  Party planning also encompasses choosing the food you want to buy including appetizers and desserts, how many people you would like to attend, and what theme and supplies you want at the party.  There are so many themes and supplies to choose from such as a Hawaiian luau complete with all types of tropical decorations like fake palm trees and hula skirts or a fifties theme with poodle skirts and festive music.  Supplies also include forks, spoons, knives, napkins, and tablecloths that coordinate with the colors and theme of your choosing.

Other than birthday parties, children can participate in an assortment of kids parties, slumber parties, tea parties, or pool parties.  young people usually enjoy taking part in parties like Prom, Homecoming, costume parties, beach parties, sweet sixteen parties, New Year’s parties, frat parties, raves, sorority parties, hen parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and Stock the Bar parties.  Parties meant for young people can be loud, exciting, and full of an abundance of different people all ready for a good time.  Adults throw many different types of parties including theme parties, dinner parties, holiday parties, wedding receptions, baby showers, bridal showers, Super Bowl parties, Academy Award parties, New Year’s parties, wine and cheese parties, cocktail parties, housewarming parties, jewelry parties, purse parties, candle parties, Tupperware parties, Lingerie parties, anniversary parties, murder mystery parties, casino nights, or even a simple happy hour. 

Many parties that families can enjoy together consist of barbeques, picnics, luaus, block parties, and much more.  There are also numerous parties that celebrate a religious achievement of some sort such as Bar Mitzvahs, Confirmation parties, or first communion parties.  Formal parties include fancy dinner parties, cocktail parties, or a debutant ball.

No matter what party is occurring or the reasons for celebration, parties are an ideal way to enjoy yourself and spend time with family and friends.
