There are so many wedding events that can be involved when celebrating the love and commitment that a couple shares.  When people think of wedding events they may just consider the actual wedding ceremony and wedding reception, but there are so many other events besides those two that truly contribute to a couple’s big day.

Some of the most common wedding events that occur during the time of a wedding include wedding showers, bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, rehearsal dinners, encore receptions, pre-wedding parties, engagement parties, and farewell brunches.  All of these events have the ability of making a wedding even more special because whether serious or fun, they all celebrate a couple’s love and happiness in some way. 

When preparing for the unforgettable big day, a wedding shower is pretty much a necessity for any bride-to-be.  At wedding showers, the bride gets a day all about her, and the maid of honor is usually the lucky one who gets the chance to throw the elaborate party complete with wonderful guests, food, gifts, and games.  At the wedding shower, the bride and her guests not only get to have fun and enjoy their time together, but the bride is able to receive so many essential gifts that she will use in her future home.  Sometimes, an engaged couple might choose to have a Jack and Jill shower where the bride and groom-to-be celebrate their wedding shower together.  The bridal shower is most definitely one of the most important pre-wedding parties.

Most engaged couples take advantage of their last few moments before marriage with a bachelor and bachelorette party.  At these parties, the groom will go out with his friends and the bride with hers, and they will usually have an unforgettable and wild night.  The maid of honor will usually plan the exciting bachelorette party for the bride with a variety of different ideas like possibly going to a club or male venue of some sort.  Bachelor and bachelorette parties are exciting events that the bride and groom are sure to remember for years to come. 

Events such as rehearsal dinners or farewell brunches are more serious affairs than a bachelorette party, but they are definitely a fun and crucial aspect of the wedding process.  The rehearsal dinner allows everyone to get together to prepare for the big day.  After the excitement of the wedding ceremony and reception, a farewell brunch is the perfect way to end the festivities and wish the bride and groom good luck in their future life together. 

Of course, the other wedding events do not even compare to the actual wedding ceremony itself because the ceremony is truly one of the most important moments of any couples life.  It is the time when they pledge their love and commitment for each other for life, and there are so many diverse wedding locations where a couple can share this special time.  Couple can choose to have their ceremony in a church, resort, beach, garden, or other location, and they can use interesting themes like western, gothic, or contemporary.
