When setting up an office space, it is important to equip the office with the necessary machines and supplies that it takes to keep a business running smoothly and effectively.  These supplies and office will vary depending on the size of the office, and the specific job to be done there.
Whether your office is a small or large one, there are a few things that every office cannot do without. First and foremost when setting up an office space, is the need for office furniture. People need a place to sit and work at, and a space in which to do their work on.  When shopping for office furniture, a good place to start is an office furniture supply store. Often you will find furniture that is sold in large quantities, and at large discounts. It is easy to pick out full matching sets of furniture, such as conference tables and chairs, sets than contain chairs, couches and desks, and high quality waiting room furniture. When buying furniture, make sure to take careful measurements so as to avoid the hassle of having to return items. If you are on a tight budget, a good alternative to new furniture is the furniture you will find at many discount office supply stores. This furniture is offered at sometimes hugely discounted rates due to minor damages, or the discontinuation of the particular style. If you aren’t too focused on having whole sets of matching office furniture, than a discount store may be the right answer for you.
Some supplies that often are overlooked while planning the look and feel of the office space, but are vital essentials to the running of an office are; pens and pencils, plenty of paper for copying, note taking, and faxing, extra cartridges of ink for the fax and copy machine or machines, file folders for keeping good records, envelopes in all sizes foe mailing, discreet record keeping and interoffice mailings, staplers, and a good rule of thumb is to have one for every person in the office, and post-its for everything from quick phone messages to instructions that need to be attached to a file of some sort.
Most offices will need to have at least one copy machine, one fax machine, and a good phone system. When the size of the office starts growing, this brings with it the need for larger and possibly more than one of certain types of machines. This could include but certainly not be limited too; laminating machines, binding machines, a paper shredder, possibly a money handler, a time clock, folding machines, hole punchers, display racks for the waiting room, and one or more printers. Office supplies can be purchased in stores, or online and shipped to the consumer. When shopping online, it is important to get such information as the name of the company, the tracking numbers to be able to follow your order as it is shipped out, and a detailed list of what you purchased so if anything is missing when the shipment is received you have the ability to take recourse.
