Landscaping is a way to create an environment that shows off a person’s lifestyle, and enhances the area that they are designing.  Landscaping and landscape design are done to artfully and decoratively draw attention to the outdoors.      Landscape architecture is a job in which the architect has been trained to look at a piece of land, determine what type of buildings will blend into the land with as little impact on the environment as possible, and then design a lovely space that is functional, enhances the natural surroundings, and serves the purpose it was designed for to the general public and those who work daily within the designed area. Landscape architects are sought out for work on such areas as; public parks, state buildings, forest areas and campground spots, environmentally protected areas, and many more. Landscape architects have to be able to take into account natural waterways, the plants and wildlife naturally occurring in the area they are working in, and any surrounding structures that have to be worked around.
     Landscape architects have two main jobs to do when hired to work on an area. First is the design stage. This is when the architect meets with the client to discuss the clients’ vision of the area to be worked on. Then the architect can view the area and take measurements, make suggestions based on experience, and sketch out some rough designs based on what the client is looking for. This is also the time in which rough quotes can be given to the client about the approximate cost of the work to be done.  The second aspect of the job is the designing stage. Generally the architect ill map out and print up 3-4 landscape designs to present to the client. Once the client has approved a specific design, the cost of the project is determined as well as the time span in which it will take for the design to be fully matured, due to the fact that plant growth can take quite some time. Often times, the architect will meet with the client several times over the course of a few years to ensure that the design is following the course in which it was planned for.

This type of computer program allows one to design their own properties within their budget, and do the work on their own. It is a good option if you are not on a time frame, and do not want to rely on someone else to create your vision of landscape design.
