Condition, is the term for a medical illness, or certain health situations which require the aid of the medical community, and treatment is the definition of how that illness, or health situation is dealt with by medical professionals. There are a vast number of conditions, and far fewer treatments for all of them. Medical conditions can range from the mildly irritating, to the debilitating and/or life threatening. These conditions can include all parts of the body from the brain all the way down to the smallest toenail. A condition can be defined as the illness itself, or the stage of illness one is in at the present time. Often times while dealing with an ill or recovering person, one will ask “how is their condition.” Treatment by the same token can refer to either a onetime curative, or a longer term plan that is designed to heal, or help in various stages.
The term condition, refers to many different health situations, and cannot be used just to describe a serious medical disease. For instance, pregnancy is often referred to as a condition, and barring certain complications within that state, is not considered to be a medical problem. When used to describe a more serious medical issue, condition can make reference to illnesses of the mind, the liver, the lungs, and any other specific body part that is involved. When a certain condition becomes a chronic problem affecting an organ, or certain body part, it is going to be called a disease, and regarded as abnormal and harmful.
Treatment for a condition is the act or manner in dealing with or handling a situation. It can also be defined as applying or administering a cure or solution to the problem. This can be done in a medical or surgical situation, and also used when medical therapy is necessary. Preventative treatment is a way of attempting to avoid a sickness or injury before it has a chance to set in, or happen. Treatment is a concerted effort to improve a problem, but often, such as on the case of a serious or chronic disease, the treatment is unable to improve or cure the condition. Often, diseases can be managed with consistent treatment, while still not being able to be cured.
Mental health conditions are generally referred to as disorders. There are a broad spectrum of these conditions, ranging from autism to schizophrenia and numerous others in between. The treatment for these conditions is also just as broad. Any person seeking help for a mental condition can find a program suited to fit all their specific needs. There are inpatient treatment centers, as well as outpatient, weekly counseling programs, and a variety of prescription medications to address any facet of the disorder. For people suffering from any medical condition, there is generally help and some type of cure or treatment. Sometimes it takes time and patience to explore all the treatment options, especially when your condition is overwhelming, but there is help out there.
