Art is such a basic word for such a broad meaning. There are many different types of arts throughout history and the world. Art’s main focus is usually based on what the artist chooses to express. Art can be classified as a way for an artist to express his or her feelings or interests in the specific pieces. The word “Artwork” could be used to explain many things such as dancing, painting, photography, ceramics, musical performance, poetry or writing, and many others. Some of the most famous and commonly heard artists are Vincent Van Gogh, Leonardo Da Vinci, and Pablo Picasso.
Although Vincent Van Gogh had minimum opportunities to show the world his artwork his entire living years, soon after his death he became one of the most popular known artists in the world. Vincent had lived a hard life from suffering many medical conditions, but found that painting made him most happy even if the painting saddened him. His most commonly heard paintings are Starry Night and Starry Night over the Rhone. They are very similar in ways of color and setting. Later in this artist’s life, his poor mental health state had taken over most of his emotion to the point where he had decided to cut off his own ear. Vincent tried committing suicide by shooting himself in the chest, but failed until two days later the wound killed him. The painting ‘Starry Night’ is the most popular pieces of his art because this was the only piece of artwork he could finish without having any attacks in his poor mental health state.
Leonardo Da Vinci is considered one of three great creators of the Italian High Renaissance of the sixteenth century because of his great artistic ability. Leonardo was one of the painters that introduced new styles of painting into the world. He showed in his artwork different color shadings and 3-D effects using oil pastels and darker shades of lead. The artist’s most commonly known master pieces are the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper. Leonardo lived a very successful life in his world of artistry.
Pablo Picasso is regarded as the seminal artist of the twentieth century, and one of the greatest in the entire history of art. He invented the style of Cubism and introduced it to the art world. Picasso's paintings reveal a number of differing styles, especially expressionism - and spanned a number of periods including, the Blue Period, the Rose Period, and Cubism. He believed that color should not be the most important part of the piece of artwork, but that space and shape or form should be most prominent in the viewers’ eyes. His most popular paintings are The Old Guitarist and Still Life with Guitar. These two artworks are from different periods of Picasso‘s painting life, but are very obvious as to who they were created by.
