When you think of summer, some of the first things that come to mind are pool parties, refreshing drinks, and no school, and, of course, the 4th of July.  The 4th of July is one of the most anticipated and exciting aspects of the summer season due to its traditional festivities and the ability to get together with family and friends.

July 4th parties are the perfect way to celebrate such an honorable day in U.S. History.  Americans celebrate this holiday annually on July 4th to commemorate America’s declaration of independence from Britain on July 4, 1776.  Along with traditional festivities such as fireworks, 4th of July parties are very common in America because they are such a great way to celebrate another year of independence with food and fun.  There are an abundance of 4th of July party facts that people can take advantage of online or in magazines that help to create an exciting, festive, and unforgettable party.  Many parties consist of delicious barbeques complete with hamburgers, hotdogs, baked beans, pasta salads, chips, fruit, and an assortment of beverages including soda and beer.  There are so many wonderful 4th of July party recipes available to people as well such as delicious baked beans or a scrumptious cake decorated with an American flag pattern of strawberries and blueberries.  Besides a refreshing beverage to quench your thirst, Italian ices are such a cold, sweet treat during the blistering heat of summer on the 4th of July.

This summertime celebration calls for numerous July 4th decorations to ensure a festive holiday feel.  The decorations can be as simple as putting an American flag outside your house to wave honorably in the breeze or maybe a red, white, and blue quilt to throw over the couch.  Other decorations might include American flag plates and color coordinated silverware for the exciting 4th of July party, figurines of Uncle Sam, or miniature American flags that you can place inside the house.  Another holiday festivity consists of 4th of July parades in which people brilliantly display their passion and pride in being a fully independent nation.

It is so much fun to gather together a large group of family and friends for a delicious barbeque and an overall good time on the 4th of July.  Some people are able to watch magical fireworks directly from their home, but many others travel to different parking lots or other areas to experience the pure magic and joy of numerous gorgeous colors illuminating the night sky in many diverse shapes and sizes.  In some places, people even shoot off their own fireworks in all different types.  There is no comparison to the feeling of being surrounded by family and close friends and embracing the traditional fireworks show.

Celebrating the 4th of July is an unforgettable experience with each passing year, and it is always exciting to enjoy the fun aspects of the holiday while remembering the importance of having freedom and being a fully independent nation.  Attending a July 4th party is such a wonderful way to celebrate this important and entertaining summer holiday in the presence of family and friends.
