ABOUT IPA

IPA's vision is based on the assumption that whatever government does, it should do it as well as existing management skills and organizational, technological and operational resources permit it to do. Popular language describing improvement in governance shifts with the decades -- from efficiency and economy, to public management, to results-oriented delivery, total quality management, and reinventing government. The language changes, but the objective is the same: to help countries achieve economic and social development and support their transitions to democracy.

IPA strives to achieve this objective through an interactive program of research, technical assistance and training in three areas: public sector governance and management, public finance and fiscal reform, and sustainable urban development.
